Women's Constitution: Won for All?
Constitutional Conversations Group and School of Law, QUB
Wednesday 18 March, 1-2.30pm Edgar Graham Room
Main Site Tower 02.002, School of Law, QUB
Conversations on the constitutional status of Northern Ireland are flourishing in public and behind the scenes. So far, most of these conversations have focused on UK union, Irish unity and their implications for rights, equality, health, education and the economy. The impacts of constitutional change on women’s and other marginalised lives are rarely considered. This International Women’s Day event is an opportunity, open to all, to consider the following: what would a woman-friendly constitution look like? would a women-friendly constitution benefit other marginalised groups? how might it happen? Other questions are very welcome.
All welcome

Ask an Architect salon
A round table of architects (who also happen to be women) with expertise ranging from residential, commercial, conservation, offices, extensions, interiors, new builds, education, there to answer all of your big and small questions about architecture and construction work, the design process, planning and building control, maximising your space, studying architecture, style advice, etc. Martina Murphy (pictured) will be hosting the panel.
Do you have a question you’d like to ask an architect? Are you considering booking an Ask An Architect consultation but not sure yet? Why not come along to the Ask An Architect salon and ask a question to our table of experienced architects?
The first hour will be an informal group discussion around the table, with questions invited from the floor, followed by time afterwards to mingle and chat over a drink, and ask further questions one to one.
Who’s the event for? Anyone interested in engaging an architect, or in the work that architects do, or who has any kind of space they would like to make the most of.
The proceeds go to Friends of the Cancer Centre and there’s a drink and a bite to eat when people get there.

Artist and co-founder of The Mothership Project, Seoidin O'Sullivan will present and talk about the network focusing on their recent Satellite residency and publication. This will be followed by Dublin based artist Fiona Reilly performing a piece from her Department of Timekeepers Project.
The Mothership Project is a network of parenting artists in Ireland. The Mothership Project aims to support parenting artists in the development of their practice and to encourage arts organisations to make the art world a more inclusive place for artists with children. The Mothership Project wants to see societal and institutional change for parents in the art world. Being a parent can be challenging at the best of times, but with precarious circumstances and incomes, and uncertain futures parenting artists can be doubly challenged within a society that is lacking many supports for those with children.
Since 2018, The Mothership Project have undertaken research into the lives of parenting artists. A survey was carried out with over 140 respondents from across the country and highlighted the difficulty of maintaining an art career as a parent in Ireland. A new publication with the findings of the survey and residency, with recommendations for arts organisation to better support and be inclusive of artist with children, was launched on the 16th of May.

A look at each phase of the menstrual cycle – ‘the inner seasons’ and how we can build our self-care, work and creativity around our cycle in simple and practical ways through diet, exercise, scheduling and energy management
Ways to support the menstrual cycle to alleviate physical and emotional challenges and to prevent burnout
How productivity, creativity, communication skills and our emotional wellbeing can be harnessed through the changing energies of the menstrual cycle

Women Stepping Forward
Could you see yourself on the Board of Governors at your child’s school? Or helping a mental health charity make decisions about its services? Or helping shape health and social care in your area by sitting on the board of your local health trust?
We all have experience, talent and skills that could improve decision-making – and the place important decisions are made is in the boardroom.
This event will showcase some women who have taken their seats in the boardroom and helped bring a different perspective to its work.
Come and hear them talk about what they learnt about public life and work, and about themselves. And then perhaps think: “I would be good at that!”
Our panel is now confirmed for discussion and Q&A with the audience – Dawn Purvis, Ann Hope and Judith Gillespie.
