Poster Competition Winner and Runners Up 2025

Our Theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is ‘Solidarity Beyond Borders - Women for World Peace’.

We had so many wonderful entries this year that as well as our winner we have 4 runners up who will all recieve a prize as well as their image printed as postcards to be given out at Reclaim the Agenda Events.

Our winning design was by 14 year old Catelyn Dillon. It is a hand painted and drawn image showing a shillouetted image of a woman in front of an abstract sunrise. She explained that the woman is empowered and hopeful, her arms are thrown up towards a dove, which is a peace symbol, flies overhead.

We have used Catelyn’s image at the center of our poster, which is framed by the phrase ‘International Women’s Day’ translated into lots of different languages. If you would like a printed poster to promote the rally please email danielle@reclaimtheagenda.org and stop by 2 Royal Avenue after the rally to pick up a postcard of this image or one of the runners up below.

Eva Jones image shows girls from different backgrounds all sharing an adventure through space. They are flying above the World with a rainbow hitting NI, and the rocket has various Pride flags decorating it.

Claire McGuigan created this image titled Between the Petals.

It draws inspiration from the deep connection between the female psyche and nature, particularly the blooming cycles of flowers. Just as flowers go through their own period of blooming, so too do we, united in a collective solidarity that transcends borders—across seas, lands, and skies. Our bond with one another, much like our bond with nature, is unbreakable.

I believe world peace is only achievable when every element of liberation is considered as part of a larger whole. This includes being conscious of our environmental impact, staying connected to the natural world, and recognizing that we, too, are part of nature. The quote in the piece reflects this philosophy and is taken from Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, a book that explores indigenous teachings on nature, connection, and collective healing, in relation to womanhood.

Catalina Mas-Perez

Though separated by the borders (represented here by leaves), women from all backgrounds come together and hold on to the fight for world peace. All around the edges and background, leaves fall from their stems, representing the importance of removing the many borders that stand to keep people divided and at war.

The style is inspired by medieval illustrations. With bright colours and floral imagery to inspire hope, growth, and new beginnings.

Numa Karnachi

I wanted this poster to represent the women who's situations have to be heard by the media because they have been fighting alone for so long and it shouldn't be that way.

I used the national flower of Palestine as it is a symbol of resistance and standing strong as the flower does even after it wilts.
